Report to the Newton office: Cardiology Associates of Sussex County, 222 High Street Suite 205 Newton NJ The holter monitor is about 3.5x2.5x1 inch. You will be wearing it for approximately 24 hours or as close to that as your work schedule allows. It is best that you w e ar it as directed and return to the office to have it removed. In the event you cannot return , i t may be removed by you at home and returned to the same office by another person . The monitor must be returned as soon as possible . Keep in mind that the monitor is operated by battery power, and the recording must be processed within a time lim it to preserve the recording, and to be able to provide you with timely results. *You will be wearing the Holter Monitor for 24 hours. You will be instructed to keep a diary during the 24 hour period. *You will be able to follow your daily routine while w earing the Holter Monitor unless the doctor states otherwise. * On the day of the holter application, you should shower in the morning and DO NOT apply powder or lotion. Once the monitor is applied, you will NOT be able to shower. *You should wear loose, c omfortable clothing. Ladies, wear a two - piece outfit. Do not wear a o ne - piece dress, full slip , one - piece undergarment or a long line bra. A regular bra may be worn. You will not be required to remove any undergarments, but your blouse or sweater should be loose enough to be pulled up or unbuttoned. If you want the monitor to be less obvious, wear a jacket or loose sweater over your outfit. The monitor cannot be completely underneath the clothing because you must be able to read the time display on it to record in a diary. *PLEASE REALIZE THAT THE HOLTER MONITOR IS AN EXPENSIVE PIECE OF MEDICAL EQUIP MENT. BY AGREEING TO WEAR THE HOLTER MONITOR, YOU AGREE TO TAKE THE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO SEE THAT THE MONITOR DOES NOT BECOME DAMAGED BY DROPPING, TAMPERING, OR ALLOWING IT TO BE EXPOSED TO WATER OR CHEMICALS.
