Monitoring Methods for Double-Walled PressurizedPiping and Under-Dispenser Containment (UDC) Title 23, California Code of Regulations (CCR) Option #1 Option #2 Generator An annual piping test thatdetects a release of 0.1 gphfrom the primary containment.(This can be performed by anelectronic line leak detector thatis third-party certified toperform a 0.1 gph test or by aCalifornia Licensed Tank§ 2636(f)(4) AND AND A line leak detector thatdetects a 3.0 gallons per hour(gph) release from theprimary containment.(A mechanical or electronicline leak detector may be usedto fulfill this requirement.)§ 2636(f)(2) Continuous monitoring forboth the pressurized pipingand UDC that:Activates an audible andStops the flow of product AND Continuous monitoring forboth the pressurized pipingand UDC that:Activates an audible andStops the flow of productat the dispenser when a Continuous monitoring forthe that:Shuts down the pumpStops the flow ofproduct at the when a leakis detected in the UDC.§ 2636(f)(5)(A) Title 23, CCR, section 2630(d) requires the installation of monitoring equipment such that it is capable of detecting a leak at the earliestpossible opportunity. Therefore, an underground storage tank system where the UDC drains back to a low point in the product piping(generally the turbine pump) is not compliant unless a monitoring de WR Continuous monitoring forthe pressurized pipinglocated outside the UDC thatis fail safe and shuts down thepump when a leak is detected.§ 2636(f)(5)(B) AND A line leak detector that detectsa 3.0 gallons per hour (gph)release from the primarycontainment.
