CAREER OPPORTUNITY VAVE / Cost Reduction Manager Corporate Offices TITLE: VAVE / Cost Reduction Manager REPORTS TO: VP, Product Engineering LOCATION : Corporate Offices - Saline STATUS: Salary – Exempt We are currently recruiting for a VAVE / Cost Reduction Manager to join our team in Saline, Michigan. This position is responsible for reaching targeted levels of cost saving through the timely, effective implementation of VA/VE initiatives. The role is accountable for the ongoing Value Analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities for new cost saving projects. The ideal candidate will hav e a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, along with a full understanding and work ing knowledge of the disciplines required to manage and launch a program from concept to delivery . The individual must have great inter - personal communication skills, the highest level of integrity in all business transactions, and one who delivers on commitments. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Lead Quarterly VAVE and Cost Reduction Forums. VAVE Event, Program Determination, Target List, Analysis of Target Programs, VAVE Forum, Suggestions and Execution. 2. Develop detailed action plans, milestones, and deliverables for each VA/VE project. 3. Impleme nt all VA/VE projects on - tine, and to the targeted cost savings. 4. Effectively coordinate Company - wide staff and related resources to implement VA/VE projects on - time and to the targeted cost saving. 5. Keep others (JAC Colleagues, Supplier Partners, Customer s, etc . ) effectively informed/engaged throughout each VA/VE Project. 6. Participate in Product Design Reviews and provide insight into the product design to minimize cost while meeting performance and appearance requirements. 7. Provide insight and recommenda tions to the Purchasing, Engineering and Manu

facturing Departments regarding the Engineering Bill of Material to insure that the material selection is optimized. 8. Provide feedback, lessons learned, and other guidance to the Project Engineers, Engineering Managers, CAD designers and Test Technicians, to ensure that new product designs are as efficient as possible. 9. Write CM’s and follow through to release for VAVE idea and implementation. 10. Maintain PDCA list of overall VAVE’s, update Roadmap and VAVE Matri x, hold weekly PDCA conference calls and ensure efficient practical attendance and assignments for each. 11. Implement VAVE and Cost Reduction systems and assist in creating new systems that will make Cost Reduction part of JAC ’s “ DNA ” . PREFERRED EDUCATIO N REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related discipline PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES :  Full understanding and working knowledge of the disciplines required to manage and launch a program from concept to delivery within JAC Products (Change Management, integration with Launch Teams, collaboration within various departments).  Understand the Advanced Product Quality Planning elements for implementation and PPAP of changes that reduce cost.  Working knowledge of Engineering processes, Man ufacturing and/or Product Engineering and Product Costing  Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet aggressive deadlines  Exceptionally productive, even in the absence of daily, direct supervision  Excellent communi cation skills, both oral and written  Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)  Minimum 5 years of experience in the Auto Industry  Assisted in / responsible for the success ful launch of a minimum of 5 programs at OEM level  Underst anding of APQP  Working knowledge of VA/VE process Send Resum
