Everyone came together for the evening to listen to all different people’s amazing experiences. It was astonishing to hear the struggles people have been through, but what’s more astonishing is how resilient they still are today. A young man named Julius was such a positive speaker. He talked about his struggles he’d been through and all the adversity he’s experienced, but you could still always see the light at the end of the tunnel with his positivity. With every speaker came a new blur of emotions. Some stories were short and sweet while others took you on an emotional journey. All of them, however, were equally heartfelt. For example, our youngest speaker Trevon came up for just a few minutes to talk about his brother and in that short period of time he had half of the crowd crying tears of sadness, empathy, and complete love of his vulnerability while sharing. We even had the luxury of hearing a loving mother, Maria, tell us her story in Spanish with the much appreciated help of a translator. She told us about the pressure of raising seven children, one with severe challenges and how she struggled to show her unconditional love to them all equally. Thankfully, all these stories have strong and great endings, hence the titleStories of Hope. The experiences yo

These trainings have been incredible opportunities for shared learning among those that work in behavioral health systems, and the family members who we are all so fortunate to spend time with. With as many family members in the room as the professionals, the rich dialogue and discussions created valuable opportunities for hearing different perspectives and cultivating partnerships with families. We look forward to more shared learning events in Prescott Valley!Understanding Behavior Family Involvement Across Arizona YolandaChevere,FamilyOutreachSpecialist, andKatieGates,NorthernArizonaDevelopmentCoordinator, havebeenpartneringwithfamiliescreateFamily

On August 24and 25, CFSS employees, family members and community stakeholders came together for a training facilitated by CFSS Chief Clinical Officer, Matt Pierce. During this training, two parents from Tucson, Eddie Chaboya and Kellie Moore, shared heartwarming and inspiring stories of their personal journeys in raising their children, navigating systems, climbing the mountains of challenge and finding hope on the other side. Their eloquent stories touched the hearts of everyone in the room and inspired hope in us all. Thank you Eddie and Kellie for your tremendous courage in sharing your incredible stories of hope!Family Connections in Flagstaff Tucson Parent & Caregiver GroupConnection CaféDo you have anyone you can REALLY talk to who has walked in your shoes?
