Her expertise is in the field of research uptake and knowledge mobilisation (KM) and she has over seven years’ experience in supporting the capacity of intermediaries, research institutes and think tanks in how to influence evidence - informed policy a nd practice. She facilitated the I - K - Mediary Network, a global network of 100 members from over 35 organisations involved in research to policy initiatives and now currently facilitates the Knowledge Brokers’ Forum, a community of over 700 research uptake and KM practitioners from 80 countries. She has substantial knowledge and experience in both the theory and practice of research uptake and knowledge mobilisation, and is available to advise and support on a range of areas from context analysis and stakeholder mapping, strategy development , practice and implementation, through to evaluation and impact . EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS 2001 BSc (Hons) Geography, University of Exeter, 2001 RECORD OF EMPLOYMENT 2007 – Present Network & Partnerships C onvenor, Institute of Development Studies (IDS) 2002 – 2007 Programme Manager, Book Aid International (BAI) 2002 Office and Course Administrato r, University of North London 2001 Fundraising Volunteer, Spina l Injuries Association (SIA) SELECTED EXPERIENCE 2015 – Present: Global Open Knowledge Hub (DFID) - c o - ordinating learning on open knowledge for eight partners (including Practical Action Latin America and Soulbeat Africa) for the 3 million DIFD - funded Global Open Knowledge Hub p roject. 2015 – Present: Human Development Innovation Fund (DFID) - l eading the design of a knowledge management (KM) capacity strengthening plan for the Commission for Science & Technology (COSTECH) in Tanzania, and supporting the development of a four - ye ar programme to support the Government of Zanzibar to make evidence - based decisions in water, health and education. 2014 - 2015: ‘ Engaging your policy audiences ’ short course - c o - designed and facilitated a short course for staff from research institutes, think tanks and civil society organisations. 2013 - 14 Think Tank Initiative Policy Engagement & Communications Programme (IDS/IDRC ) - developed the capacity of think tanks in Latin America and South Asia in policy engagement and communications th

rough workshops, mentoring, training and advising and supporting local mentors . 2013 - 14 Zambia Economic Advocacy Programme ( IDS/ HTSPE/DFID) - d eveloped a participatory capacity assessment tool to assess the knowledge mobilisation and research uptake/advocacy capacities of Economic Think Tanks in Zambia. C onducted a needs assessment on a field visit in May/June 2013. 2013 - 14 Social cash transfer evaluation in Zambia (IDS/UNICEF) - mentored, advised and supported the Platform for Social Protection (PSP) to develop a communications and advocacy strategy for an evaluation to measure the impact of social cash transfers on the we llbeing of programme recipients and their communities. Advising on evaluation of strategy. 2012 - present POSHAN India (IFPRI/PHFI/ID S) - s upported a review of nutrition knowledge systems and networks and the development of a knowledge mobilization strate gy for the POSHAN (Partnerships and Opportunities to Strengthen and Harmonize Actions for Nutrition in India) project funded by the Gates Foundation. Designed evaluation and assessment frameworks and designed and facilitated a two - day strategy development workshop for partners using outcome mapping . 2007 - 2013 Mobilising Knowledge for Development (IDS/DFID) - co - led the design and implementation of a new capacity development strategy to strengthen the capacity of knowledge intermediaries as part of a 9 mil lion DFID - funded ‘Mobilising Knowledge for Development’ (MK4D) programme. 2 002 - 2007 Programme Manager, Book Aid International : Managed programmes in Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somaliland, Sudan, Palestine and Sri Lanka, to help enable access to information with over 50 partners.
