HFM All rights reserved Since 2005, Habitat for Missions has been flipping houses with volunteer tradesmen to generate funds for Christian missions. 50+ projects have produced $700,000 for missionaries serving in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, North and South America. HFM has helped medical missionaries, aviators, educators and church planters. But now, we are about to launch a truly unique project that will assist a very special min- istry in Siliguri, India … “ Sano Diyo ”. A Special Ministry Sano Diyo means “ A little lighthouse ”. The ministry was started in 2002 by Prasanna and Arpana Khaling who were called by the Lord to help young girls in the Siliguri area. They formed the Sano Diyo home where 35 young women now live, safe from poverty and the risk of abuse and human trafficking. Under the loving supervision of the Khaling ’ s, the girls receive an edu- cation as well as an introduction to Christianity. When the HFM leadership first heard about the minis- try of the Little Lighthouse, we immediately accepted the challenge of generating $40,000 through a flip in West Michigan. A Unique Project Usually, Habitat for Mission projects are undertaken in partnership with a local congregation. HFM raises the investment capital needed to purchase a suitable property and the church provides the volunteer work- ers to prepare the home for sale. However, the project for Sano Diyo is truly unique. No church is involved! Instead, our partners are International Needs, a mis- sion organization and Innotec, an engineering firm both based in West Michigan. Several years ago, HFM received a financial grant from Innotec. The company is owned by a group of Christian businessmen who see their business as mis- sion. John Wesley once said, “ Make all you can. Save all you can. Give all you can. ” This seems to be the mantra of the men of Innotec. Issue 68 May 2019 A Unique Project for a Special Ministry! Visit us on the web: www.habitatformissions.com Habitat for Missions generates financial support for missionaries by mobilizing volunteer workers to flip properties across North America. Founders: Rev. Bill and Daphne Foster When we presented the ministry of Sano Diyo, Innotec offered to partner with HFM on a local rehab to generate funding for them. Innotec has not only loaned some of the money needed to purchase a property, but mobilized their 120+ employees to work on the renovation. International Needs has had a long standing relation- ship with Sano Diyo. They helped build their minis- try center several years ago. Now they will help us produce the needed $80,000 to complete the project. Once the building is finished, twice as many girls will be able to be rescued and cared for and an addi- tional 500 children and families reached in surround- ing communities through weekly programs. That ’ s right. I said $80,000. But the goal for the flip is only $40,000? Right again. But International Needs has recruited a donor that will match whatever Habitat for Missions makes through the sale of the West Olive home, thus the $80,000 total. This really is a unique project for a very special ministry! ”A Little Lighthouse”
