slide4. OVERVIEW OF DSAC PUBLIC ENTITIES 4 DSAC oversees a total of 28 public entities
Entities operate across diverse sectors and are to deliver on their respective national mandates
Effective and good governance is central to the performance of public entities
The Department and the Executive Authority are to ensure that there is effective oversight of public entities<br>
slide5. MANDATE AND OVERSIGHT 5 DSAC oversees public entities in sport, arts, culture, and heritage.
The Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture is the Executive Authority responsible for public entities reporting to the Department. Shared responsibility to promote ethical and effective governance.
Powers are derived from the Public Finance Management Act as well as the enabling legislation of public entities. Best practices are also used from the King Code on corporate governance.
The Minister is responsible for the appointment of Accounting Authorities (Councils/Boards) of these entities in line with the founding legislation.
There is currently no legislation that precludes or prohibits members from serving on multiple Boards or Councils, provided that such appointments comply with the relevant enabling legislation and principles of good governance.
Shared commitment to good governance and accountability.<br>
