Children are a gift from God (Deut. 7:13; Ps. 127:3)
Children are desirable (Gen. 9:7; Deut. 6:3)
Children bring joy and blessing to adults (Num. 5:28; Deut. 28:4, 11)
Children need to be taught how to develop relationship with God (Exod. 12:26, 37; Deut. 6:1-7; Prov. 22:6)
Children are so valuable that God commands us to protect them (1Sam. 20:4; Ezra 8:21).
God loves children enough to ensure that they receive discipline (Prov. 3:11, 12; 13:24; 19:18; Eph. 6:4).
He blessed and prayed for the children (Matt. 19:14).
He affirmed the children (Mark 10:15).
He befriended the children (Ellen White’s Upward Look, p. 57).
He participated with the children (Ellen White’s Upward Look, p. 57).
“Children of eight, ten or twelve years, are old enough to be addressed on the subject of personal religion. Do not teach your children with reference to some future period when they shall be old enough to repent and believe the truth. If properly instructed, very young children may have correct views of their state as sinners, and of the way of salvation through Christ.” (Testimonies, Vol. 1, p. 400.)
08
“In the closing scenes of earth’s history, many of these children and youth will astonish people by their witness to the truth, which will be borne in simplicity, yet with spirit and power. They have been taught the fear of the Lord, and their hearts have been softened by a careful and prayerful study of the Bible. In the near future, many children will be endued with the Spirit of God, and will do a work in proclaiming the truth to the world, that at that time cannot well be done by the older members of the church.” –Counsels to Teachers, pp. 166, 167.
The Children’s Ministries coordinator must envision what the ministry can accomplish through God’s power. Vision is needed for the ministry as it allows you to look ahead and plan with a purpose with a focus on the mission.”
The Great Commission from Jesus: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. CREATING THE VISION FOR MINISTRIES
REFOCUSING MINISTRY TO CHILDREN
“God will surely help those who seek Him for wisdom. We are not to wait until opportunities come to us; we are to seek for opportunities, and we are to be ready always to give a reason for the hope that is in us. If the worker keeps his heart uplifted in prayer, God will help him to speak the right word at the right time.”
