Merciful God,
We confess that we have sinned against you in our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
We have failed to love you with our whole heart, and we have failed to love others as ourselves.
We are truly sorry.
The weight of our sin is too heavy for us to carry.
Forgive us and cleanse us through Jesus Christ.
Restore us by your grace, and help us to walk in your ways, for the glory of your name.
Amen.
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
3 Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.
The Weaver
My life is but a weaving between my God and me.I cannot choose the colors, He weaveth steadily.
Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow; and I in foolish prideForget He sees the upper and I the underside.
Not ’til the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to flyWill God unroll the canvas and reveal the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful in the weaver’s skillful handAs the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned
He knows, He loves, He cares; nothing this truth can dim.He gives the very best to those who leave the choice to Him.
