-Technique: Stencil graffiti and
graffiti

slide3. Do a deep critical analysis in terms of form, context, concept (use Subject - Specific terminology) NOT just DESCRIPTION Color - author used 3 colors: red, white and black. He minimised amount of colors because if picture will be too colorful audience’s attention will be minimised to idea but here colors do not divert audience from idea. Colors are in their original form only in some places author used white and black in order to make grey which will show the shape, example is the trousers or t-shirt. So black and white make a contrast as complementary in order to show volume through the continuous change in colors. However red takes more attention and it is good because words need more attention because idea is in the words.
Form & shape - if you will look at picture you will imagine rectangle however it do not have direct form. It showed the 2 dimensional volume. Words are in 2 d however n some places man was made in 3 d and you can see his volume but if it would be 3 d picture, then again audience would pay less attention to idea and more to the picture what would be bad for delivering his idea.<br>
slide4. Technique - stencil graffiti. It means that author used special cut paper, put it on the wall and then painted, therefore how i can see on this picture men has so straight lines. Banksy said that this technique is very usefull because you can draw your art piece more faster on the streets. It is a great benefit because street art is not legal every where and sometimes you can have problems with law how Banksy had, and after it he started to use stencil. Also this technique is very useful when you are beginner and you can prepare stencils at home as long as you need and then in 5 or 10 minutes draw it. However letters Banksy draw without stencils, only with common technique graffiti. I think he did so because if width of this picture is 5 meters and height is 4, how big should be stencil? It would be too big and too complicated to transportate, therefore it was more useful to use graffiti technique.<br>
slide5. Surface & texture - the surface of art piece is rough how i can see from parts where in monotone colors, there are white pints shows that the surface is rough. Author did not painted the art piece twice because if he would then he will not have this points, it can show that he did not have much time to draw it on the house. The texture wasn’t simulated because it has the same texture as house wall has. in this case author wants to make picture very easy to feel therefore it will be easy to understand and reflect on author’s idea.
Size - i think that it is good size because if it would be smaller it would be hard to read from the streets but if it would be bigger it would feel like excess on the fron of small house and it would be very complicated to do. Maybe it would be good if it would be on the top of the highest tower in the city but it is the same house as 70% of others therefore even if it would be bigger, people will not se it on the next street because of the other houses.<br>

Define types of the street art (what kind techniques / medias – mural, graffiti, sculpture, installations, 3D drawings / concept / Intentions – social protest, political protest, critique, decorative author use)? Banksy it is artist that did not open his personality to the world. The only thing that we can understand about him is that he is protestant because all of his works show a nowadays world’s problem. THis work was made in San - - Francisco, one of USA megapolises. In the moment when USA started airstrikes on the Worldwide Middle East people started to comment it.There were people who agree with it and didn’t agree, One of the was Banksy. With his work protested to the airstrikes and showed how it looks like from the side. It was time when everyone wanted to show his opinion of it. BBC, CNN and other tv channels showed this situation to people, there were books about it and a lot of news. The art piece called “If at first you do not succeed - call an airstrike” made by Banksy showed his opinion on this situation, opinion of man that all people around the world who is on the short leg with art knew.<br>
slide7. In my opinion, i think that it is a lesson and to some extend critique. Critique because this picture located in USA which in 2012 and 2011 started massive airstrikes on the Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Syria. The reason of it was that USA said “ we do not negotiate and communicate with terrorists”. By terrorists they meaned not all people, only group “Islamic state” which located there. And this airstrikes caused massive deaths as terrorists as common people. A lot of people started to critique USA military methods and Banksy was one of them. But this picture has a sarcastic lesson. Sarcastic because the meaning is vise versa to what is written. He wrote that if you can not solve your problem once, use radical method and it is sarcastic because he wants to say that if you can not solve problem once, try more but do not in radical way. Here this sarcasm help him to deliver his idea, of course not all will understand it, like children who can understand it directly, but they do not have connection to politic while adults and parents have. For them it is fun and rememberable. If people remember something and it is fun, then they will remember it more often and will analyse it, therefore study Banksy’s lesson.<br>
slide8. -What is the purpose of the street art work?
-The purpose of any art piece is to show lesson, to deliver an idea and to influence on people's minds and their decisions. Here purpose is to criticise USA military government decision to call massive airstrikes on Worldwide Middle East. Also to teach people lesson that they shouldn’t solve their problems in radical way without trying to do it peacefully.
-How the idea of the street art piece communicates with the space where it was created?
- On this art piece i can see man who is clothed like a anarchy man. Also this work is located in middle class part of city what means that there is poor and wealthy people and as USA on the top of the robbers in a year, there is a lot of robbery. It happens because people do not have money and they start to think radically and sometimes they kill people. BAnksy want to show them that their way of thinking is wrong and there is another way to solve their problems.<br>
slide9. Does art have a power change of perception according ideas and audience?
I think that it have a power to change and influence on people. First because his idea is very easy to understand therefore people can reflect on it. Second is example that he used, airstrikes. All people in USA know about it therefore all people can understand what he meant. Third is sarcasm how i said before, people like it and by psychology what people like they remember. Forth is that his picture will not change military government, but it can change the minds of common people. MIlitary forces and government listens to the community and therefore if he changes the minds of people he changes the minds of government. Fifth is that his idea is actual in 2013 because USA did not stopped the airstrikes but in 2014 amount of them became a lot smaller, it’s not only because Banksy, but he is one who is part of community that can bring changes if participants of it will want changes and will make something that can bring this changes like street art.<br>
