slide2. Introduction • Wildlife Conservation Plan (WCP) is designed to
mitigate project impacts on wildlife and their
habitats.
• Prepared under the Environment (Protection)
Act, 1986 and Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
• Ensures development is aligned with biodiversity
protection goals.<br>
slide3. Importance in EC • Integrates ecological protection into development
planning.
• Helps maintain biodiversity and prevent habitat
fragmentation.
• Ensures compliance with environmental norms.
• Promotes sustainable mining and industrial
activities.<br>
slide4. Legal Framework • Mandatory requirement for projects near
Protected Areas or Wildlife Corridors.
• Governed by MoEF& CC and State Forest &
Wildlife Department guidelines.
• Requires approval from the State Chief Wildlife
Warden (CWLW).<br>

• Identification of project impacts on wildlife.
• Conservation and mitigation measures.
• Budget allocation and implementation schedule.
• Monitoring and reporting mechanisms.<br>

• Forest/Wildlife Department : Reviews and approves
WCP.
• SEIAA/SEAC : Evaluates adequacy during EC
appraisal.<br>
slide7. Terms of Reference (ToR) for EIA Studies in Mining Conduct detailed biological study of core and 10 km buffer zone
10 km radius of periphery of the mine lease
Record flora and fauna details of core & buffer zone separately
Include information on endangered, endemic and RET (Rare, Endangered and Threatened)
Species clearly indicating Schedule of Fauna present in the study area duly authenticated<br>
slide8. Terms of Reference (ToR) for EIA Studies in Mining PP shall prepare a Conservation Plan if Schedule – I species present in the study area.
Plan shall be prepared in consultation with State Forest & Wildlife Department.
Adequate funds must be allocated within the project cost for implementing the WCP.
Proof of submission of WCP to the CWLW should be provided.<br>
slide9. Procedure to be followed as per SEIAA Order 03.11.2025 Conduct a study to identify Schedule-I flora and
fauna in the study area.
Get the list authenticated by the Deputy
Conservator of Forests (DCF).
If Schedule-I fauna are found, prepare a Wildlife
Conservation Plan with budgetary provisions.<br>
slide10. Procedure to be followed as per SEIAA Order 03.11.2025 Consult the State Forest & Wildlife Department
while preparing the plan.
Include the budget in the Environmental
Management Plan (EMP).
Submit proof of submission of the plan to the
Chief Wildlife Warden (CWLW), Rajasthan.<br>
