Maharshi Patanjali is said to be the propounder of Yoga philosophy. It is a very scientific philosophy. We can find its references in Vedas, Upanishads, Smritis and Puranas etc. now it is propagated throughout the world. Healthy body and strong mind, both are the subjects of its study. This philosophy believes that a sound mind resides in a sound body only. Purity of mind makes the mental attitude pious. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the universal consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, man and nature.<br>

Yoga is a way life. This is an ancient Indian science which influences the functioning of the brain and rest of the body. Yoga is a form of physical exercise that involves different body poses, breathing techniques and meditation. Regular practice of yoga may help to:
Relieve stress
Lower anxiety levels
Decrease depression
Improve sleep quality

As an exercise, it naturally produces serotonin, sometimes called the happy chemical because it contributes to feelings of wellbeing and happiness. Serotonin in the brain is a natural mood stabilizer and has been associated with helping anxiety and stress.
Regular yoga practice teaches deep focus and mindful breathing, two important elements in helping to relieve depression. Participants can better focus on the present, clear their mind and strengthen the mind-body connection.<br>

It helps modulate the stress response, reducing heart rate, lowering blood pressure and easing respiration. This may also help in managing pain tolerance.
