slide2. Why I chose this? I chose this because I enjoy snowboarding and i wonder how it started and I knew it came after Skiing.<br>

slide7. Origins Snowboarding was invented in 1964 by a surf freak who had dreams of snurfing on the snow.His name was sherman poppen. As a result he built the snurfer which was made of to kids skis bolted together. Then he gave to his daughter for a christmas present.This quickly became popular in the neighborhood.<br>
slide8. One year later. The next year in 1965 with the help of a bowling company they were being mass produced. They Were appearing in stores for the unbeatable price of $15. Over the next ten years it sold 1 million snurfers. But just as quick as it came up is disappeared. If it weren't for jake burton or dimitrije milovich.<br>
slide9. First company. Dimitrije milovich is credited with having the first ever snowboarding company. Its name was “winterstick” he experimented with nylon foot straps, steel edges, fiberglass, and ,much more. However the company went broke in 1980.<br>
slide10. burton. Jake obsessed with improving the snurfer toy experimented with footstraps, steering ropes, and steel edges decided to found his own company in 1977. continuing to work on improvement the snowboard stayed the same for a while.<br>
slide11. Meanwhile. while company were being created the sport was growing. However snowboarders were still not allowed in public resorts. they would climb mountains, or sneak into ski resorts walk the slopes and board down.<br>
slide12. 1990 1990 was a big year for snowboarding. They were being allowed into more and more ski resorts. Improvements such plastic boots and bindings and round tails. Ski resorts were developing halfpipes, Quarter pipes, rails, and organizing competitions. As the years went on more improvements in material were made as long as styles such as, freestyle, racing, and terrain.<br>
