Typhoid fever is also known as “ENTERIC FEVER” INTRODUCTION:<br>
slide3. Typhoid fever is an acute communicable diseases caused by SALMONELLA TYPHI. usually occur through ingestion of contaminated food and water , characterized by continuous fever for 2-3 weeks, toxic symptoms, bradycardia, with involvement of lymphoid tissues. DEFINATION:<br>
slide4. EPIDEMIOLOGICAL TRIAD<br>
slide5. AGENT:
The causative organism of typhoid fever is S.typhi.
Carried by cases and carriers in their stool or urine.
Source of infection is primary and secondary sources. EPIDEMIOLOGICAL TRIAD<br>
slide6. HOST:
Highest incidence in 5-19 years of age group, but it can occur in any age.
It occur more in males than female, but in female carrier rate is more. CONT..<br>
slide7. ENVIRONMENT:
It occur throughout the year ,but peak incident is during july- September.
Contaminated water ,food.
Open defecation and urination.
Poor personal and environmental hygiene. CONT..<br>
