Brethren, fear not!Slide3

Do not fear death.

Jesus warned His apostles not to fear men who could kill them

(Matt. 10:1-7, 28).

Jesus is Victor over the devil

(Heb. 2:14-15)

Faithful servant’s death is avenue to be with the Lord

(Phil. 1:21, 23)

“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord”

(Rev. 14:13)

Prove faithful to the point of dying

(2 Tim. 4:6-7; Rev. 2:10)Slide4

Do not fear death.

Long for what lies beyond death but live purposely for Christ.

In life or in death a disciple belongs to the Lord

(Rom. 14:8-9)

Living for the Lord benefits others

(Phil. 1:24, 25)

Proclaim the gospel in spite of forth coming opposition

(Matt. 10:27)Slide5

Do not fear standing alone for what is right.

Apostles would experience men’s mistreatment and injustice

(Matt. 10:16-23)

“Blessed are you when men hate you, and

ostracise

you

,…”

(Luke 6:22) Slide6

Do not fear standing alone for what is right.

Courage to stand alone for right-

eousness

is found through God’s promises.

Paul was alone at his trial

(2 Tim. 4:16,17)

Saints are of great value and not forgotten

(Matt. 10:26, 29-31)

“… I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,… The L

ORD

is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”

(Heb. 13: 5, 6)Slide7

Do not fear god’s assigned tasks.

Peter, James and John accepted the call to become

fishers

of

men

(Luke 5:10).

A miraculous catch of fish impacted them greatly

(Luke 5:3-6, 8)

“… they left everything and followed Him”

(Luke 5:11)Slide8

Do not fear god’s assigned tasks.

Are we too afraid to accept the responsibilities that our Lord calls us to do?

Afraid to become a Christian?

Afraid to lead by being an example

“in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity”

(1 Tim. 4:12)

?

Afraid to fail so we bury our responsibility

(Matt. 25:25)

?Slide9

Do not fear the future.

Paul’s future did not look good.

Acts 21:11, 33; 27:41

“Do not be afraid, Paul, you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.”

(Acts 27:24)Slide10

Do not fear the future.

God had plans for His servant Paul.

More Gentiles would hear the gospel

(Acts 28:16; Phil. 4:22; 2 Tim. 4:17)

Everything that happened helped the furtherance of the gospel

(Phil. 1:12-14)Slide11

Do not fear the future.

Press on in serving God and others.

“… with humility of mind regard one another as more important that yourselves; do not look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others”

(Phil. 2:4)Slide12
