Casein enzymic hydrolysate,potato flour and skim milk supply the amino acids,proteins and carbohydrates for the growth ofMycobacteria. L-asparagine initiates growth andincreases the growth rate, while glycerol providesenergy to the Mycobacteria. Egg yolk emulsionprovides lipids required for metabolism. Mix the wholeegg emulsion with 121 mls of (E7899) Egg YolkEmulsion and aseptically add to the 1000 mls ofsterilized and cooled Petragnani Medium Base. Mixwell and dispense into tubes.
