August 1, 2017 GAHA Meeting Minutes Meeting called to order at 6:02 by President, Jason Mallum Roll Call: Amy Carpenter, Kelly Groshong, Star Jorgenson, Lauren Larson, Jason Mallum, Herschel Wells, Melissa Wells, Traci Gangl, Grant Clafton, Pat Guyer Treasurer Report by Lauren Larson: Checking Acct. = $13,922.63; Savings Acct. = $4306.77; Jersey Acct. = Coach reimbursement checks from 2015-2016 were found by Lauren n box of stuff handed down to her by previous treasurer. These checks were re-issued and sent out. They totaled $310. Secretary Report: Minutes reviewed from July 11, 2017 meeting. Motion made to accept minutes by Lauren and 2nd Website/Registrar Report by Traci Gangl:  Refresher Safe Sport is available until 9/18/17, after that date go through Safe Sport Center for full course. Needs to be renewed every 2 years.  GAHA Board Members have been given Read-Only rights to online Quickbooks. LaTraci and Jason will be allowed full access.  Timberlake Logo will be added to GAHA website.  Discussed Deuces Wild= Tentatively scheduled for April 28, 2018.Discussed the options for the different opportunities for sponsorships to help defray costs, also discussed the several different Will need to experiment with acoustics n the arena, GAHA will control price of admissions, security will be needed, Ron Maki is willing to do the liquor sales. Cost to hold our date will be $3250 (they will accept payment, but full deposit needs to be paid by January 15, 2018). Motion was made

Discussed doing the try hockey for free, date will be set early in the season and the information will go out in Tuesday folders at the pre-k, and elementary levels. Fundraising Report by Kelly Groshong: Fundraising packets will be ready around August 22, 2017. Fundraisers for the 2017-2018 season will be as listed: 20 Gun Raffle- Will run Sept. 1- Dec.1, 2017. 500 tickets sold at $20 each, which averages about 5 tickets being sold per family. Drawing will be held at the first home GHS game in December. Prizes will be gun or face value of gun at L&M.  - Oct. 1- Nov.1. Pick up on November 17-19 at Kalisch’s  Pizza Sales- January 1-January 15, 2018- Pick up TBD  Schwann’s Sales- January 15-February 27= Runs for 45 days online, and GAHA receives 40% of sales.  Sidney Crosby Jersey= 100 Square board at $20 per square. Profit= $1000 to GAHA and $1000 to boosters. Tournament Director Report by Star Jorgenson: Waiting to hear dates and prices of Eveleth tournaments for Squirt, Bantam A, and Pee Wee A levels. Squirts and Bantam B are scheduled for Park Rapids tournament. New Business:  Grant Clafton presented GAHA with $1500 donation from golf outing. Thank you to all those involved.  Concessions: Long discussion to go over concession and the expectations of each party involved. Managers, GAHA, volunteers͙͘͘etc͘ Tentatively GAHA will be chargin

We will offer volunteers to make their money back for those want to by working the concession stand during high school games and GAHA home games and tournaments. The family must complete the 15 total DIBS with 10 being done in concessions prior to receiving the $100 refund. If an outside group (music booster club, cheerleaders, prom committee, etc.) are hired for concessions for a tournament weekend they will be paid $500.  If a family has more hours in concessions then needed those hours can be used towards the $300 in fundraising at $10/hour. However, if a family exceeds the $300 in fundraising the extra amount cannot be used towards concession hours. Each parent is expected to work in concessions during their child’s home tournament. Concession hours worked during your home tournament do not apply towards earning the concession fee back.  GAHA will meet with Greenway Rec. Board Dept. to further discuss concessions. Tabled this discussion until that meeting takes place.  Will discuss with rec. board the possibility of GAHA using their printer if we supply paper and toner. Old Business:  Farmer’s Day Parade͗ Jason will check on possible use of Zamboni, Lauren will get candy and stickers to hand-out. Will post a request for hockey players to come and walk parade, and toss candy and handout stickers. Next meeting will be September 5, 2017 at Nyberg Center at 6:00pm.
