ating in contrast to one another. Still, in the benefi t of the Israeli youth, they all choose to stand together and work with one another. With all of this on our plate, the Council fosters, from its very beginning, cooperation and synergistic action in the spirit of democracy on all levels, out of the unders tanding of the immense importance of solidarity among the different populations in the Israeli society. The Need Members of the Council with the President of Israel, Mr. Reuven Rivlin In Israel 30% of children and youth take part, on a regular basis, in significantly valuable educational activities. This percentage is even smaller in the less developed neighborhoods and underprivileged population groups. However, particularly in the Israeli so ciety, which is rich in cultures and contains various population groups, it is crucial to increase the presence of value - based non - formal education among youth. As a matter of fact, apart from growth and development that take place, several societal rifts and divisions threaten the very existence of the Israeli society. This emphasizes the need for youth organizations, which fight to protect our society’s much cherished values, namely, justice, altruism, tolerance and equality. Our Response  Developing informal values education groups among new populations and communities from diverse backgrounds  Drastically increasing the number of participants in activities  E stablish ing the connection between the youth communities of different population groups
