Rules and Regulations No profanity, lude, rude, or indecent behavior on stage. This event is open to the public both live and online, any behavior deemed inappropriate by the contest chair will be cause for immediate disqualification and removal from the contest. Any distasteful behavior, and or damage to HACC Lancaster campus will result in an automatic disqualification at the hands of management and judges. Absolutely no obscene, offensive lyrics or gestures while performing will be tolerated. It w ill be the sole decision of the panel of judges to determine what is obscene or offensive. Breaking of this rule is grounds for immediate disqualification If a band incites moshing or any other sort of violence in the crowd, the band will be disqualified and removed from the facility. All clothing must remain on at all times - no disrobing on stage All band members and equipment must be at event one hour before scheduled date and time of that bands performance. On the day of the performance, band member s must be dressed in clothing free of obscenities, drugs, alcohol, sex or other subject matter not suitable for a family audience. This is a smoke, alcohol and drug free event . Each band’s set must fill approximately 1 5 minutes but must not exceed 25 min utes. F or every minute exceeding the 25 minute limit, the band will be penalized 5 points from their total score. Dates and times will be coordina ted between bands and the HACC committee , but

once agreed upon the bands must live up to that agreement. Ban ds can play original songs or covers. A stage crew will be on hand to assist each band in setting up and sound check. It is the band’s responsibility to set gear and be ready to perform. Participants must use provided drum kit and backline gear. HACC will provide the standard and customary stage set for the Live Performance to incl ude: one standard drum kit, bass amplifier, guitar amplifier, and keyboard. Any specialty gear must be able to plug into the profession al sound equipment provided. 
 P articipants may bring and use their own effects pedals 
 HACC will provide a professional audio techn ician who will mix all bands. 
 Professional lighting will be provided. Stage management has final say on all activities on stage. No guest lists - only performers get in for free, everyone else must purchase a ticket. Only band members and event staff will be allowed back stage. No friends or family will be allowed beyond security lines. Any band going over the allotted time, or disregarding event management’s direction about anything, including safety and time, may be disqualified or powered off. Bands must not go past allotted time, (even if the crowd is calling for more) No prerecorded audio tracks allowed during live performance. All rules mu st be followed or could be grounds for disqualification. HACC will not be held accountable for any broken equipme

nt, injuries, or any other negative occurrences outside of our staff’s control. All audio recorded by HACC Lancaster Campus during official “Rock Out @ HACC: Battle of the Bands ” performances may be used for promotion of the contest. HACC will not sell any of these recordings . A complimentary copy of the bands will be provided t o each band. H ACC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, modify, or terminate the Battle of the Bands at any time. If, at any time, the Battle of the Bands is unable to be operated as planned, HACC may, in its sole discretion, suspend, modify, or termin ate the Battle of the Bands. Should the Battle of the Bands ever be terminated, notice will be given to band contacts Scoring Criteria Judging is done on a 100 - point scale by a minimum of 3 qualified judges. The 6 criteria on which the bands will b e judged are: Overall Performance & Music Quality (This criteria is based on clarity, lyrical content and overall musical performance) 1 - 3 0 Playlist Variety (G ood mix of music not the same thing over and over) 1 - 10 Personality (J ust standing on stage or really giving a show) 1 - 20 Crowd Interaction (How well the band connects with the audience) 1 - 20 Appearance (O verall look/style of the group ) 1 - 10 Attitude & Professionalism (T aking the competition seriously; professional with the stage crew and othe r bands) 1 - 10 Judges decision is final
