Noa Meshoulam

I am deciding to do a written magazine article on my friend Noa Meshoulam, Noa is hoping to be successful in an acting career and is a very motivated and confident individual who only strives to do better.

She knew that she wanted to be an actress from a young age.

Noa has participated in countless number of shows, from drama school performances to a Shakespeare ‘Romeo and Juliet parody’ Noa will always cease an opportunity. She enjoys regular sport. Overall a very enthusiastic character.

I will be focusing the interview of an interesting part of her life where she has had to face something which in the industry which is invaluable for her future.

The interview will be about when she tried out for a part in a play called the Wizard of Oz a major production along side a company called Dreaming UK.Slide3

The potential issues of this topic which is about Noa getting into the Dreaming UK Industry and auditioning for a major leading role, there are many. The issues regarding this topic would be things such as -

W

ill the show reach it’s expected potential and go live?

Will the other team members give there full participation? Will the Director give their full focus and time and be dedicated? Will there be a level of professionalism within the members?

Will I gain the maximum out of this?

Potential Issues Slide4

Identify Key facts, areas of interest, concerns on topic.Key facts about the topic, the topic is about Noa Meshoulam and her getting in to The Dreaming UK Industry.

Dreaming UK is a major urban Industry that makes hopefuls successful in the entertainment industry. It gives the chance of gaining a taste as to what it could be like to join the entertainment industry. It covers areas such as ‘acting, music, dance, film, photography’ and the list is endless. Dreaming UK works along side some big names, its a foundation to grow and mature.

What

did you do? – Firstly – audition, Roald Dahl’s little red riding hood – monologue, Improvisation of a bad date. Next stage got call back, hour of improvisation, wait 10mins to know in the official company.

How did you feel?

‘I ran to my teacher and told her I thought it was my big break, that I had done it!’

What happened after?

Received an email saying that she had got the part, and they wanted to see her on the 26

th February. First rehearsal – emotions – feeling nervous and excited all at the same time, didn’t remember anyone’s name at first, but felt right at home. How was everything going? Everything was going really well, high hopes for west end, plans for photo shoots. Involved in newspaper - not sure if got to newspaper, planning a flash dance in coven gardens – excitement running high. 2nd rehearsal – Turn up two hours early and found some people already there (strange). However it went very well, feeling really excited for what was going to happen, feeling good about everything so far. Why – it was exciting because it was in London, but at the same time a bit fishy, Fishy because Supposed to have a contract but didn’t get one, still continued Supposed to get paid – but didn’t Spent more time playing games and not concentrating on the actual thing, didn’t seem serious enough.

Did anyone else get the same feelings as you? – Yes – ‘Was a girl that had participated in lots of other plays and auditions before and had said that there was something that didn’t feel quite right with this’.

Did you decide to do anything about it?

– ‘Not really, tried to push for the contract but there wasn’t a lot we could do?’ – (decide to carry on as normal)

Lots of other rehearsals, not getting very far, close to first performance, and the director decided to cancel it, that’s when things got even fishier.Do you think that she knew that this was going to happen? ‘I think she knew, giving false hope, but she hoped and had motivation, it just wasn’t meant to be.

How did you feel?

Feeling okay, until I found out she took a group of them to a field outside the youth Olympics to perform and she didn’t say anything to the leading roles. Confusion all around. Continue to stay confused when she said she organised a fund raiser, expectations were that it was going to be full of people, stall in town, ended up being at a random field, half of the cast were not there.

NextSlide6

Did you talk to anyone else about it, how did they feel? – Just as confused as I was, why she sounded so sure of everything, when nothing was happening.

What happened after

– Strange rehearsal, cut it off for no reason, and didn’t hear from her for about 2months, these were the months that they were meant to be performing at. Heard back at the end of august, she wasn’t happy with the progress, saying how they were not serious about acting, which was untrue considering how much time, money and effort went into it. She then wanted to start up again, on the 11

th September – first show, which was meant to be the end show. What did you do about it? ‘I was unsure, and consulted with my mum and drama teachers.(confused) I didn’t want to miss out on anything in case something became of it.

Then what?

‘I decided to go to one more rehearsal, to see if anything had changed, but surprise, surprise it was cancelled, I knew that it meant nothing was going to change.

Did you feel like you were missing a big chance?

‘I did at first, but then I realised it was a learning kerb, and that I hadn’t lost anything like some other people had.

Do you think you wasted your time? ‘No not really, although it knocked my confidence at first, it’s given me the experience and knowledge to know what can happen in this industry, for example one boy had left college to participate in this. What kind of advice would give to someone considering? ‘Never pay for your own audition, and research the director and the company. How would you sum everything up? ‘An experience that I have had when I was young, which was exciting and gave me a flavour of the real world’. NextSlide7

George Hayes

I am going to be doing a live studio interview with George Hayes. George is a rugby player at The Henley College.

It was organised that the rugby players would come into our class and we had to ask them questions in order to gain more knowledge about them. Slide10

Research...

When he was younger he enjoyed various other sports such as karate, kick boxing, judo, jitzu, and many more.

He says that his biggest family supporter is his dad, always one of his influences.

Whilst playing rugby he has injured his wrist and thumb, dislocated both his shoulders.Dislikes rowingSlide11

Biggest moment? For George this was being asked to join the London Wasps Rugby team which is a big deal.

Also when his team went to play in Georgia against the Georgian team.

Going to France for the first time to play Rugby. Slide12

London Wasps

London Wasps is a professional Rugby team, and has been for so many years. London Wasps is based in High – Wycombe. It is a very well known establishment and is surely to be taken with great honour if you have been asked to join The London Wasps. Slide13

Georgia

The

enley College and London Wasps team were taken out to Georgia to compete internationally for the first time. They played against the Georgian team, and it was a stunning performance. The Georgian team did pull away and managed to win 48-12. The London Wasps had received a lot of attention from the Media coverage. Slide14
