Speakers Series Design Information session August 12th, 2020 LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT We gather today on the ancestral land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People. We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe, and all of the Native people who call King County home. Our goal is to increase health, social, economic and racial equity in King County so that all people thrive and prosper regardless of race or place. Result Areas and Indicators . Active Learning Critical Connections Capacity Building Equity Innovations Under the Learning Community Model, we provide resources to support the following types of experiences and activities: Active Learning- Deepening understanding and analysis to expose the root causes of inequity and create space to dream, conceptualize and refine community-driven solutions to lead us in the direction of transformation and equity. Critical Connections- The opportunity to work across sectors, geographies and silos to build a shared analysis, collective vision and build momentum. Capacity Building- Investments into the individuals, organizations and partnerships for greater effectiveness, creativity and longevity. Equity Innovations- Building the new tools, models and infrastructure that we need to actualize the communities we envision. Examples of Learning Community Activities A series of communications & engagement trainings with Resource Media, including best practices for Virtual Meetings and Equitable Facilitation, Zoom Operations and Digital Advocacy Development of a Virtual Meeting Resources guide with Cascadia Consulting Group. Two Group Coaching Sessions on Reflecting and Strategizing to Move Forward in an Uncertain Future with Wendy Watanabe of Watanabe Consultation and Sarah Tran of Sama Praxis LLC. These partner convenings for those interested in strategizing around challenges and opportunities due to the pandemic and current mobilization for Black liberation by cross-organizing and elevating work for justice, equity and building safe community. Conflict Transformation Workshop with Ejeris Dixon, Founding Director of Vision Change Win Consulting This workshop explored relationship repair and organizational structures, conditions, and cultures that contribute to conflict.
