Unit introduction:

What is science?

Science is about physics, chemistry, biology, geography, space and so on.

Lesson 25 Let’s Do an Experiment

Think about this question:

What do you have to do before or after an experiment?

Before an Experiment

:

We have to prepare something for the experiment, especially the materials we may need for it.

After the experiment:

Get the result and make a conclusion.

Let’s do the experiment now

Step 1: preparation

Some pieces of cardboard;

A jar;

Some water;

A basin

Guess what we will do next?

Step 2 do the experiment:

1. fill the jar full with water;

2. put the cardboard on the top of the jar and turn the upside down;

3. hold the cardboard for some seconds and then take off your hand;

4 observe what happens (result: the water stays in the jar for some time)

Let’s try :

1. fill the jar half-full with water;

2. fill the jar with less water;

3. use a piece of paper

Watch what may happen!
