1. Live like Jesus v1

1

Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.Slide6

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you. Slide7

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

God, Jesus, man, wife v3

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Slide8

God, Jesus, man, wife v3

God > Christ > Man/Husband > WifeSlide9

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

God, Jesus, man, wife v3

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Slide10

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

How it works out in prophesying and praying v4-10

Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonours his head,

but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonours her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven. Slide11

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

How it works out in prophesying and praying v4-10

For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. Slide12

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

How it works out in prophesying and praying v4-10

For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man.

For man was not made from woman, but woman from man.

Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. Slide13

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

How it works out in prophesying and praying v4-10

10

That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. Slide14

2. Respect God’s good order v2-10

Don’t be ashamed of the gender God has blessed you with

If you’re married, don’t pretend you’re not

Acknowledge God’s good order in the ministry you do. Support one anotherSlide15

3. The Interdependence of men and women under God v11-12

11

Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman;

12

for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. Slide16

3. The Interdependence of men and women under God v11-12

“The model of woman in tribalism is the brood mare; in hedonism, she is the bunny or plaything; in feminism, she is the self-sufficient career woman; in romanticism, she is the fairy princess or maiden in distress waiting to be rescued; in biblical faith, she is the partner in ministry.”

4. Stick with God’s good order v13-16

13

Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a wife to pray to God with her head uncovered?

14

Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him,

15

but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering.

16

If anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God.Slide19

4. Stick with God’s good order v13-16

“The woman was formed out of man-not out of his head to rule over him; not out of his feet to be trampled upon by him; but out of his side to be his equal, from beneath his arm to be protected, and from near his heart to be loved.”
