PRAYER OF CO NFESSION Almighty God, in whom we live and move and have our being, thou hast made us for thyself so that our hearts are restless until they find rest in thee. Mercifully forgive us of our sins. Grant us purity of heart and strength of purpose, that no selfish passion may hinder us from knowing thy will, no weakness from doing it. In thy light may we see light, and in thy service find perfect freedom. St. Augustine TIME FOR SILENT CONFESSION ASSU RANCE OF PARDON Leader: Friends, believe the good news of the Gospel! People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven, thanks be to God! Alleluia, Amen! *THE AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed I believe in Go d the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. *GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end. Amen. For many people who attempt to make real life changes on their own, the answer is usuall y no. However, life change is possi ble. In fact, the Christian life calls us to grow and become transformed, but it is a process that many of us struggle with daily. We will be l ooking at Ephesians 4 and learning what the transformation process is all about. This course will be led by Eddi e Capparucci. JESUS, THE BEAUTIFUL OUTLAW : He was accused of nearly everything -- breaking the law, keeping bad company, heavy drinking and being the devil himself. He was so compelling and dangerous that they had to kill him. But those who knew hi m best loved him passionately. He had a sense of humor; his generosity was scandalous; his anger made enemies tremble; he would say the most outrageo us things. Come and see Jesus. The real Jesus. A Perfect Love who defies conventional belief. A Beautiful Outl aw. Thi s course will be led by Hubie and Terri Mann. Welcome to Eastminster’s contemporary worship service, The Road. We hope you have discovered a place where you can personally experience God, no matter where you are along the road of life.
