273 Installation of letter plateInstallation of porthole windowThis example shows letter plate No. 1608 combined with �ap No. 1609 on the inside of the door. Note the dimensions of the aperture (58 x 276 mm) and the drop angle (approx. 30 degr.) which allow optimum performance. The �ap must be able to swing up by 60° degrees in order to open fully. The aperture must be horizontal. Letter plate No. 1608 has attached threaded bushes for through screws �tted from the inside of the door.- No visible screws on the outside.- Flap No. 1609 conceals the letterplate screws on the inside.The example shows a door ring set for a glass thickness of 5 mm and a door thickness of 40 mm. In case of other dimensions, change the depths of the recess for the glass and lining as required. Specify exact glass and door thicknesses when ordering. The porthole window consists of three parts made in stainless steel: two door rings and one lining ring. The set also includes 12 stainless steel wood screws 3.5 x 16 mm with cross-slot. – Alternative screws to order: M4 machine screws Torx No. 15 and threaded bushes for through �xing of the rings. Before installing the porthole window, cut a circular hole in the door (200 Ø or 355 mm Ø depending on model) with a circumferential recess for the glass (7 mm overlay; depth depending on glass thickness). Place the glass on a thin silicone layer in the recess, and position one ring on the glass and door. Insert the lining from the opposite side, and place the other ring.
