So what has caused the continents to drift ??: Transcript
What do you think Recall Theory of Plate Tectonics Plate Tectonics refers to the movements of plates large segments of continents and ocean around the Earths surface These land masses are seen as a giant . Pangaea. Nearly 100 years ago, Alfred Wegener began an investigation that continues even today. . He wanted to know if Earth’s continents were in fixed (non-moving) positions.. He proposed that all the continents were once part of a supercontinent called Pangaea.. In 1812, Alfred Wegener presented his scientific theory called “Continental Drift”. It was based on his belief that the continents had drifted apart from one another.. Pangaea. Wegener ‘s hypothesis was that all the continents had once been joined together in a single landmass and have since drifted apart.. Zach Daniel White. Biology 101h- . Desaix. Why does it matter?. “An antidepressant that brought relief to only seventy percent [of patients] would be a valuable treatment if it did so in one week and had few side effects. Unfortunately, given the current clinical trial methods and placebo-response rates, such an antidepressant, regardless of its true efficiency, would not have more than a fifty percent chance of looking better than placebo. How 2 continents fell in love…and created a big, beautiful world. . By: Carla Vigil. SS-EP-4.1.2. Students will use geographic tools to identify major landforms (e.g., continents, mountain ranges), bodies of water (e.g., oceans, major rivers) and natural resources on Earth’s surface and use relative location.
