Meet the Experts

Meet Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, Fashion Experts on TLC’s “What Not To Wear!”They are here to give you some tips so you don’t get busted by the CPMS “fashion police!”

Let’s start with the obvious, shall we?Slide3

Let’s not be a distraction

ABOVE

the knee = OK on the

weekends!Slide10

SHORTS & SKIRTS

Must measure less than 6” above the top of the knee.

Skirts

Ladies, pay attention to the

back

of your skirt. Sometimes when you put them on you’ll notice the back is shorter than the front (even if it doesn’t look that way on the hanger)!

Do the “Sit Test!”

When you’re in the dressing room or at home, sit in your skirt. Is any part of your bum touching the seat? If so, please don’t wear that skirt to school!Slide11

FIT

Tight-fitting clothing is not appropriate for schoolLeggingsYoga pants

Tight-fitting tops

Bike shorts

(etc.)

(Wear them onthe

weekends!

)Slide12

But what if I wear leggings

under my holey jeans?Nope.… Not OK for school (but OK on the

weekends!

)

But WHY??

Leggings alone = no

Holes above the knee =

no

You can’t combine 2 “no’s” to make a “yes.”Slide13

But what if I add leggings under my

short skirt or long sweater?Nope.… Not OK for school (but OK on the

weekends!

)

But WHY??

Leggings alone = no

Short skirts alone =

no

You can’t combine 2 “no’s” to make a “yes.”Slide14

Head’s Up!

No head coverings at school(wear them on the

weekends

)!Slide15

Watch Your Step!(Let’s keep those feet safe!)

Final Thoughts…

If you are trying to decide what to wear to school and the following question pops in your head:

“I wonder if this goes against the dress code policy?”

Then play it safe and don’t wear it! Chances are it does not meet the standards of the KISD dress code.

Slide17

Final Thoughts…

All dress code issues will be subject to the

campus administrator’s judgment.Slide18

What You Need To Know

Let me ask you a question: If you had your driver’s license, would you have to know the rules/laws of driving? Slide19

Student Code of Conduct

If you answer yes, you are correct! Without knowing the rules/laws of driving, you could compromise your safety and the safety of others while driving.Slide20

Student Code of Conduct

The same concept applies here at school.

Just like there are consequences for breaking a law on the road, there are consequences to breaking the “laws” in the Student Code of Conduct.

SCOC violations (and any other types of referrals) can prevent you from participating in extracurricular activities, such as

Sapphires, cheerleading, NJHS, Leadership Academy, etc.).

That sounds horrifying!!Slide21

Student Code of Conduct

We will continue to discuss the Patterson Norms over the course of the year. In the meantime, you are responsible for knowing the information stated in the

Student Code of Conduct

. You may view the Code of Conduct at the website below:

https://www.killeenisd.org/departmentDocs/c952/documents/StudentCoCEnglish.pdfSlide22

Student Code of Conduct Signature Card

Thursday you will get a signature card, which indicates that you understand the contents of the Student Code of Conduct. You need to take this home and review the Code of Conduct with your parents.

Then you and your parents need to sign the card and return it to me tomorrow!Slide23

Questions?

Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask any CPMS staff member!

Go CAVS!

You guys look FABULOUS!
