Three years ago I was in a predicament.nbspI was in a Startup Accelerator (which is a business program for startups which usually ends with you pitching your idea to investors) and pivoted very early in the program. Problem was I was neither a coder nor designer. I was just a guy with an idea for a business.nbspThe idea of sitting in front of an investor8212many whom likely wouldn8217t be the most tech-savvy people8212and trying to explain the idea was daunting.nbspIn writing there8217s an old phrase show don8217t tell. But how do you show something when you have literally hours before meeting with someone who could potentially give you the funds you need to succeed?nbspIn a word SketchnbspSketch gave me the ability to quickly mockup my idea so that when I met with investors and advisors I wasn8217t telling8212I was showing them. And they were impressed. It clicked with them more than words could. Many believed that what they were seeing was already done and working.nbspIf you are a non-coder non-designer like me then is book will give you the foundation you need to create your software or app. Microcopy consists of small pieces of text like headings hint texts placeholders summaries and instructions throughout a website or app. These little bits of content often get overlooked to the detriment of the application or website you8217re building which is tragic since they make the difference between products that fade into obscurity and those that go on to become extremely successful. In this book we\'ll see how9679 One retail firm increased its monthly revenues by 25000000 by changing one word9679 A website prevented hundreds of credit card billing errors using a single sentence9679 An enterprise chat app used playful microcopy to grow to a 3.8B valuationYou\'ll understand the power of microcopy through many real-life examples and learn how to9679 Analyze microcopy for strengths and weaknesses9679 Identify opportunities to use microcopy9679 Plan your microcopy9679 Start writing better microcopy9679 Validate its effectivenessHere\'s some praise for the bookquotThe content is good. Copy is something that I\'ve been trying to get my hands on so Chapter 7 was very helpful for me.quot -- Jelvin Base UI/UX DesignerquotI really like it since i\'m still new to microcopy and gives me an idea why microcopy is important for every app and website. It\'s easy to understand and apply especially for beginners like me. I will definitely recommended this book to my friends.quot -- Eric Luciano Front-End Developer / DesignerquotNiaw prepares her readers for the wonderful world of Microcopy (and burritos) with great examples here and there partnered with the value of using it reasoning as to how Microcopy works and flavourful wordplays. This short but tasty book proves how powerful small things like microcopy can make a big difference to your designs.quot -- Pierce Jonota Designer The Desired Brand Effect Stand Out in a Saturated Market with a Timeless Brand Paul Rand .
