Assess patient’s mobility

Position patient

Apply Slings, use appropriate size

Apply brakes

Attach sling’s clips to the equipment

Attach safety straps around knee pad

Ask patient to hold on to black outer bars

Hoist patient up and transfer to desired location

To avoid Sling from sliding, black part

can be touching patient’s skin, and front buckles are snugged.

Ask patient to look up and lean back into slingDo not have patient lean forward and pull up

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

Check buckles on straps

Do not use on patients who are unable to bear weight

Ensure correct sling size for patientTighten straps after patients has been lifted up
