An Evening with Starstruck 2015 SATURDAY, MAY 30TH 2:00 P.M. & 6:00 p.m. Gates Hall at The Newman Center For The Performing Arts Dear Dancers and Parents, We are so excited to have you be a part of this celebration. “An Evening with Starstruck” will be held at Gates Hall at The Newman Center For The Performing Arts, University of Denver, located at 2344 E. Iliff Ave. Denver, 80208 Dress Rehearsal will be Saturday, May 30th at 9 am at the Newman Center Show Date: Saturday, May 30th  Doors will open at 1:30 & 5:30 pm  Show s will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. & 6 :00 p.m . 2 pm show and 6 pm show We will have 2 shows again this year. Each show will be approx. 2 – 2.5 hrs long. The first show at 2 pm is geared towards the younger age dancers and the later 6 pm show is geared towards the older dancers. You can get tickets by going to The Newman Ce nter Box Office, calling The Newman Center Box Office (303 - 871 - 7720) and online through their ticketing website ( www.newmantix.com ) beginning April 2 5 th . Starstruck will NOT be selling any tickets this year at the studio. Ticket Prices Per Show Children & Adults: $20 (extra fees may apply if purchased online / over the phone) If your dancer will be watching before or after performing they will need to purchase a ticket. If they don’t have a ticket to watch in the audience there are dressing rooms for them to stay in dur ing the show. We will have older dancers available to stay with the younger dancers during the 2 pm show , but parents are responsible for changing their dancers into their costumes if the dancer needs help. Recital Fee There is a $25 recital fee which m ust be paid with costume fees due on March 6 th . Account Status Your account must be current with no outstanding balances to participate in recital. Video Cameras We will be having a professional video company taping the entire performance. These ar e wonderful videos and will make great memories. The a pproximate cost will be $40 . You will be able to order you r video at the performance. There is no personal videotaping allowed during either show. There will be separate videos for the 2 pm and 6 pm show. If you would like to video during the dress rehearsal please contact Lisa or a staff member. Little Rockstars Dancers To avoid confusion and congestion backstage we ask all parents of Little Rockstar dancers to keep your dancers with you in the a udience until 5 numbers before their performance. Please bring your dancers backstage at that time and pick them up immediately after they perform. We will run through where to bring them and pick them up during the dress rehearsal. Recital Costumes Ou r classes have worked so hard this ye ar and we are so excited for them to show you how far they have come. We hope you all can perform with us this year. Technique classes such as adv. t ech, int/adv. tech, floorbarre or stretch and turns / jumps will not perform a routine for their class. All other classes (except Jazz / Contemporary 6) will perform a routine highlighting what they have learned this year. Attached you’ll find a list of all classes performing in the recital and the price of each costume. The teachers work really hard to pick r ecital costumes that can be used again in dance class, and for the little ones can be used as dress up clothes after recital. Please indicate on the costume order form which classes you are enrolled in and will be p erforming with at recital . We will use the order form to order costumes and list dancers in the program. If you are unsure which class(es) please ask the teacher so you order the c orrect costumes. Elite Company & Allstar members are required to perform i n all required class routines. Order forms along with costume & recital fees are due Friday, March 6 th . We will have a box at the front desk to put your order form in. Please do not place it in the black tuition box. Every class, unless otherwise noted below will be ordering a top specific to that class and using either bootie shorts, or other bottoms such as jeans , leggings, or sweats . No two dances will have the same top ( except for the following classes which will be combined, if you are in bot h classes please mark both but only pay for 1 costume ) : * Hip Hop 3/4 & 4, * Teen Poms 4/5 & 5/6, * Tap 4 – 4/5 & 3/4, * Teen Poms 2/3 & 3/4, * Elite Ballet & Ballet Exam Gr 6 - 8 (Sun) * Ballet 5/6 & Ballet Exam Gr 6 *Ballet 4, 4/5 , & Teen Ballet 1/2 * B a llet 2/3 & 3 The bottoms you will need for each class are listed below. If you already have the bottoms listed in good condition (ex. bootie shorts ) you do not need to purchase new ones. S ome co stumes also require a black sportsbra to be worn. If you h ave your own you do not need to purchase a new one, if you need one you can mark it at the bottom of the order form. Louanne’s Ballet Classes All of Louanne’s ballet classes will be renting professional ballet costumes. Louanne will size the girls in class and then b ring the costumes to the dress rehearsal. Each dancer will need to provide their own p ink tights and pink ballet shoes (Pointe shoes for pointe class). Ballet Gr 6 - 8 (Sunday) & Elite Ballet are combining into one routine, if you are in both classes you o nly need to pay for 1 costume. Also Ballet Exam Gr 6 and Ballet 5/6 are combining; again if you are in both classes only pay for 1 costume. Costume Sizes On your order form you will need to mark sizes for both tops and pants. We have also asked for hips , bust, girth, and waist measurements. The girth measurement is the torso length (start the tape measure at one shoulder, go down thru the legs and up to the same shoulder to get the torso length) Parents need to measure dancers , Starstruck staff will no t measure dancers. These measurements will help us double check the sizes you are ordering. Starstruck is not responsible for incorrect sizing. To help insure that you order the correct size, below are some guidelines to help. In May we will hand out a costum e check list which includes which color tights and/ or shoes are needed. Tap classes will wear black tap shoes, jazz classes will wear blac k or tan jazz shoes (any style , if you need to know specific color now please ask your teacher ), lyrical classe s will wear any tan shoe/footundies/pirouettes, ballet classes will wear pink footed tights and pink ballet shoes, and hip hop will wear tennis shoes or black combat boots .
