METHODS:The experiment was done using a Visual Map Developer (VMD) - a device consisting of two screens through which a light stimulation passes which the user must follow. Two infrared cameras follow the movements of the eyes and head and in a space of about two minutes the visual map is built, which is a representation of the time the user spends in each area of their visual space. The study was conducted with 15 volunteers aged between 20 and 30 years. Selected are 4 types of frames, all without corrective lenses:1. rimless frame2. plastic frame in light color and medium size3. plastic frame in black color and larger size4. small plastic frame in black with wide handles

TYPE

1α – The subject moves their eyes a lot in both the horizontal and the vertical fields. Their visual behavior entails the use of large areas of the lens.

TYPE

1β – The subject moves their eyes to take in the horizontal visual field. Use of the both the eyes and the head to take in the vertical visual field.

TYPE

1π – The subject moves their eyes to take in the horizontal visual field. Moves more their head up and down to take in the vertical visual field.

TYPE

2α – The subject uses their eyes to take in the horizontal and vertical fields. The head is hardly moved.

TYPE

2β – The subject takes in the horizontal visual field using the eyes more than the head. In the vertical visual field both eyes and head are used equally.

TYPE

2π - The subject moves more their eyes in the horizontal visual field and moves the head up and down in the vertical visual field.

TYPE

3β – The subject moves their head more in the horizontal visual field but moves both eyes and head in the vertical field.

TYPE

3π – The subject rotates the head to take in the horizontal visual field and moves it up and down for the vertical field.

TYPE

4π – The subject moves their head significantly in order to take in the horizontal and vertical visual fields.

TYPE

4β – The subject takes in the horizontal visual field using the head more than the eyes. In the vertical visual field both eyes and head are equally.

PURPOSE

:

With the advancement of technology the optical industry works to optimize eyeglass lenses. Various innovations are introduced to create more customized lenses tailored to individual viewing behavior of users. Importance is therefore attached of the relationship between movement of the head and eye movement. It is estimated that this ratio is specific and relatively sustainable for individuals. In practice, for the selection of personalized lenses are used different devices. When carrying out the test the consumer is typically without glasses. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the change in visual behavior testing where consumers have different eyeglass frames.Slide2

Impact of The

Selected Eyeglass F

rames on The Visual Behavior CONCLUSIONS: The influence of the selected frame on the visual behavior could be relevant in tests for the optimization of eyeglass lenses. In cases of ametropia it seems that there is a difference in the visual behavior with or without vision correction.RESULTS:

Recurring changes in visual behavior are illustrated very well by the obtained visual maps. The typical for different people ratio of head movement and eye movement are affected significantly by the different frames. Since students are interested to work with new devices, the possibility of using such devices for educational purposes can be noted as a further result. With the development of technology various new devices become relatively more affordable and it helps to attract students to participate in research projects.
