“Do not attend, view, or participate in entertainment that is vulgar, immoral, violent, or pornographic in any way. Do not participate in entertainment that in any way presents immorality or violent behavior as acceptable. …Have the courage to walk out of a movie or video party, turn off a computer or television, change a radio station, or put down a magazine if what is being presented does not meet Heavenly Father’s standards. Do these things even if others do not.”

“In your morning prayer each new day, ask Heavenly Father to guide you to recognize an opportunity to serve one of His precious children. Then go throughout the day with your heart full of faith and love, looking for someone to help. Stay focused. If you do this, your spiritual sensitivities will be enlarged and you will discover opportunities to serve that you never before realized were possible”.

“At the end of the day, we report back to our Father. We review the events of the day and express heartfelt thanks for the blessings and the help we received. We repent and identify ways we can do and become better tomorrow.”

After the death of Nero, Vespian turned control of Jerusalem over to his son Titus who waited for the Jews to return to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover and then ordered all rebel believers to be killed. Five hundred Jews were crucified each day. The Mount of Olives and the hills around Jerusalem were filled to capacity with crucifixes and they nearly ran out of trees to make more. Thousands of dead bodies rotted in the sun. The stench was unbearable. Packs of dogs and jackals feasted on human flesh. To help quell their boredom, Titus’ Roman soldiers amused themselves by nailing their victims to crucifixes in different positions each day. Rumors spread that the Jews were swallowing their money before they were captured to conceal their personal treasure, so the Roman soldiers started to gut all prisoners and search their bellies for intestinal treasure while they were still alive.Slide19

BUILDING OF LATTER-DAY TEMPLESSlide22

“The day will come, after your fathers, and these prophets and apostles are dead, you will have the privilege of going into the towers of a glorious Temple built unto the name of the Most High (pointing in the direction of the bench), east of us upon the Logan bench; and while you stand in the towers of the Temple and your eyes survey this glorious valley filled with cities and villages, occupied by tens of thousands of Latter-day Saints, you will then call to mind this visitation of President Young and his company.

“You will say: That was in the days when Presidents Benson and Maughan presided over us; that was before New York was destroyed by an earthquake; it was before Boston was swept into the sea, by the sea heaving itself beyond its bounds; it was before Albany was destroyed by fire; yea, at that time you will remember the scenes of this day. Treasure them up and forget them not.' President Young followed and said: 'What Brother Woodruff has said is revelation and will be fulfilled.'"
