Homework part 1– To draw your favourite room in your home
The first part of the homework is for your child to draw their favourite room in their home.
This could be
the
bedroom, living
room, kitchen
or any other room.
Once they have drawn their picture could they please label at least 4 items in the room. Use lots of colour on your work as these will go in your
topic book.
Don’t forget to name your work.
If you do not have any paper please speak to your class teacher who will provide you with some.

October 2014Homework part 2– To make a 3D model of their bedroomThe second part of their homework is to make a 3D model of their bedroom using a shoebox or any other type of small box. This is not due until the 7th of November.Ask your child what is in their bedroom and the shapes that they can see. What shape is a wardrobe? What shape is their bed?Discuss with your child what materials they could use to make their 3D model. Could they use some fabric to make a bed cover? Maybe they could use small cereal boxes to make a chest of drawers or yoghurt pots to make a beside table. Use resources that you have at home. Here is an example that Mrs Jalaf’s daughter made when she was in Year 1.
She used a cereal box, a shoe box, perfume boxes and an old pair of pyjamas!
