AccreditationThe Bachelor of Engineering degree program in Aerospace Engineering is fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). Graduates are academically qualied to obtain a Professional Engineering Licence (P.Eng.), once all work experience requirements are met. Information on Professional Engineering Licences can be found at the Professional Engineers Ontario website at www.peo.on.ca.Ryerson Institute for Aerospace Design and InnovationStudents wishing to gain industrial experience through short-term projects can apply to the Ryerson Institute for Aerospace Design and Innovation (RIADI). RIADI places students with a participating industrial corporation, usually over the summer term, to work on a specic engineering project. Over the summer, students gain valuable work experience and earn Aerospace Engineering focuses on the application of advanced technical knowledge to the design, construction, testing and maintenance of vehicles that traverse land, water, air and space. Vehicles such as airplanes, rogram The program is very comprehensive and includes directly related studies in aerodynamics, stress analysis and structural design, flight mechanics, stability and control, aircraft performance, propulsion, avionics and systems, together with courses in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering. The first-year engineering curriculum is common to all engineering disciplines and includes: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics roupsStudents have the option to participate in a number of design groups whose members apply their knowledge in competitions with other universities. The Ryerson Aerospace Design (RAD) group participates in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aero Design Competition. The objective is to design and construct a remotely-controlled model aircraft that can carry a payload. The Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) Design Group recently won first place in the CASI Free-Flight Model Glider Competition. The Ryerson Rocketry Club designs and constructs rockets for competition in local model rocketry events. rogram Third-year students with a clear academic standing may opt to enrol in Aerospace oers the opportunity to combine engineering skills with a solid foundation in management sciences through an optional specialization in Management Science. Tailored to prepare graduates for careers in engineering or applied science management, this option also prepares them for management-related graduate studies or an MBA program.
