Power Hour restructures the traditional school day to expand the lunch period increasing student opportunities for academic success.
The format is simple – students and teachers have one hour in the middle of the school day to participate in various activities. This includes time for a 30 minute duty-free lunch, and 30 minutes of “office hours”.Slide9

ResultsAttendance was over 95% last year, for the first time in over 5 years, and is on track to be over 96% this year.
Discipline referrals went down in every major and minor category the first year, and are down even more this year.
American History EOC, Geometry EOC and Algebra EOC pass rates all went up. 9
th and 10th grade ELA FSA beat our estimated equivalent percent proficient.Course failure went down 1% first semester and another 2% 2nd semester (approximately 480 more courses passed over the year). Course failures by students within our bottom quartile and our students with disabilities went down.Graduation rate went from 82% to 88%. Slide12
