This is a useful and important strategy because it helps you understand what you are reading, and it allows you to easily learn new vocabulary.Slide3

There are FOUR different types of context clues.Slide4
1) Synonym
1) Synonym:
A word or group of words that has the same meaning as the unknown word can be found in the sentence.
Example: My little brother is
gaunt
—just so thin!
Gaunt means “skinny.”Slide5
