Two referees for each candidate being considered for the short list for interview should now be contacted.Click on ‘Short List Referee Check Outcome’ to start the referee process.

There are a number of way to access applications to record outcomes. The following is the most common method.Slide3

In the step ‘Short List Referee Check Outcome’, the Hiring Manager/Hiring Manager Assistant moves the candidates from ‘Select Step Outcome’ to either:‘Recommended for Short Listing’OR‘Not Short Listed (Unsuccessful)’OR

‘Candidate Withdrawn’ where an applicant has advised you they wish to withdraw their application.

To complete this step, the number in brackets against ‘Select Step Outcome’ must be ‘0’. If this figure is greater than ‘0’ then a candidate has not been reviewed and this step has not been completed

Select each candidate, one at a time, to move them to Recommended for Short Listing status.

After the candidate has been selected, click on the green arrow to move them to the ‘Recommended for Short Listing

Check the ‘New Status’ is correct.

Comments are mandatory. These should reflect the referee comments against the criteria.

Select ‘Save and Close’ when you are finished with this candidate.

Do not check the ‘Send correspondence’ box. You will send correspondence to candidates at the end of the merit selection process.

There are instructions at each Step/Status that you can access using this hyperlink.

If you wish to see the details of the candidate you are currently moving through the Candidate Selection Process use this link.

You will then be provided with a grey pop-up box to complete the candidate you have chosen.Slide6

You will the be returned to the ‘Short List Referee Check Outcome’ screen where you will see one candidate has been moved.The green tick is confirmation that they have been successfully moved to the next status.

This process needs to be repeated for each candidate to be short listed (refer again to pages 3-4 for the process).Slide7

Step 1.Select each candidate to move them to the ‘Not Short Listed (Unsuccessful)’ status or ‘Candidate Withdrawn’. You can only complete this process for 1 candidate at a time.

Step 2.

Click on the red circle with a diagonal line through it to move them to the

‘Not Short Listed (Unsuccessful)’ status.

To Move candidates to the other statuses in the Step......Slide8

Click ‘More Actions’ and then click ‘Change

Step/status’. You will be presented with the same

screen that is on page 5 of this module which you need to complete indicating

the

‘Candidate

Withdrawn

’ status.

To Move candidates to the

‘Candidate Withdrawn’ status

in the Step......Slide10

Check all candidates have been moved to one of the other status groups in this step.

Once all candidates have been moved to another status, you are ready to progress to the next step of the Merit Selection process.

To do that click here to move all the candidates under ‘Recommended for Short Listing’ status to the next step.

A total of 9 candidates applied for this position.4 candidates have been culled and referees do not need to be contacted and remain at Step; ‘Review Applicants for Short Listing’2 candidates have been culled following contact with referees and remain at the Step; ‘Short List Referee Check Outcome’3 candidates have been moved to the short list step to be reviewed by Staffing Services and are at the step; ‘Submit Short List to HRSO’
