A genetic barriers such as polyploidy B morphologically distinguishable taxa C minimal gene flow across taxa D ecological differentiation E cryptic species 2 Speciation requires A divergence. 5. th. Grade. Vocabulary Lesson 1-2. Ecosystem: all of the living and nonliving things in an area. Abiotic. Factor: nonliving parts of an ecosystem. Biotic Factor: living parts of an ecosystem. Population: all of the organisms of a species living in the same area. Tropical rainforest – A forest of tall trees found in a region of year-round warmth. (Equator).. Average precipitation (rainfall): 1250mm – 6600mm.. Home to greatest variety of living things in the world. – Huge biodiversity.. Abstract. Question. Salinity kit. Soil testing kits. pH test (water and soil). Thermometer. Materials. Data. Conclusions. Our hypothesis was that if there is a change from freshwater to saltwater, then the tidal plant species in each area will differ. The data collected from our experiment helped support our hypothesis. In our findings we saw that in the freshwater location, there was a greater amount of biodiversity and the plants were generally larger. On the other hand, we saw that in the saltwater location, the banks had less biodiversity and consisted with only Phragmites. One explanation for this is for the fact that the abundance of freshwater in the freshwater location allowed for a large variety of large plants to live in this area. However, only a thin layer of freshwater on the surface of the water was present at the saltwater location, which minimized the diversity of plant life that could live in this area. This minimized the competition in this area, allowing it to be overrun by Phragmites plants. . People and Planet Earth. The largest is Lake . is the study of the interactions between living things and between organisms and their environment.. Their . environment. refers to all the conditions in which the organism lives, which affect the growth and development of the organism. . Exotic . or Non – Native . species-. species that has been introduced to a new area that is not it’s natural habitat. Invasive species. —exotic . that causes . major change . or damage in . the habitat . There are great numbers of Bonsai plants species are available on earth. You can see different sizes of tropical and sub-tropical species. Each one of them requires the diverse environment to survive and other requirements of those healthy growths. Plants native to Florida are plants that were here before the arrival of the Europeans Plants native to this area of Florida have evolved mechanisms over the centuries that enable them to handle our climate. BIODIVERSITY Our planet-earth (biosphere) contains more than 20 million species of organisms. But, of which only 1.4 million species have been identified so far. These species differ widely from PURPOSE To become familiar withwhat makes plants growOBJECTIVES For youth to identify five basic plantneedsdescribe what a plantneeds in order tomanufacture its own fooddescribe how the nutrientconten Help! . Our local wildlife is under threat from Alien invaders!. We need you to become Alien Detectives…... Could you learn about alien species, what they are, where they come from and what they are doing here?. Classification. Hundreds of new organisms are named each year. most are plants and insects and are found in the tropical rainforest. classify. : to group things based on similarities. ex: grocery stores, library, record stores .
