My oldest son, Kyle Cubbedge, works as a deputy for St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. He received his degree in Criminology from UF and is now a full time police officer. He has already received a heroic award for saving an elderly, handicapped woman and their cat from a burning home. He also attended R.B. Hunt, Murray Middle School, and St. Augustine High School.His girlfriend, Julie, is a nurse.
Lexie Lexie is my daughter. She has just been accepted into nursing school at Palm Beach State University in West Palm, FL. She is beautiful, intelligent, responsible, and loving. She attended R.B. Hunt, Sebastian Middle School, and St. Augustine High School. Her boyfriend, Parker Sloan, has family that is very close to me. I went to school with his father and I taught his sister in 2 nd grade.
Caden Caden is my youngest son. He is currently a junior attending St. Augustine High School. He is in the AICE program and plays on the basketball team. He will be dual enrolled in St. Johns River State College this year as well. He also attended R.B. Hunt and Sebastian Middle School. His girlfriend Madison is also a junior at St. Augustine High School and is a star volleyball player.
Kailani Kailani is my sweet dog. She is 3 years old and is a husky mix. She l oves to run on the beach with m e. She also loves belly rubs and snuggling. Visits to the dog park are also among her favorites.
Painting I love to unwind with my paintbrushes! I began as an Art major at the University of South Florida, but now I do it on the side on canvas and on cakes!
Baking I love expressing my art passion in 3-Dform on cakes. It also helpsm otivate my runs with a need t o burn off some calories!
Running I got into competitive running when I attended Flagler College. I ran on the cross country team there, and got hooked. Since then I have run 10 marathons, including the Boston Marathon 3 times, New York City, and Chicago. I am not competitive anymore, but I still run almost every day.
R.B. HuntI attended R.B. Hunt from Kindergarten until 4th grade. (There was not a 5th grade here back then.) When I came to work here 24 years ago, my 1 st grade teacher had retired, which created the opening. I have been teaching 2nd grade ever since. My internship was completed in 2 nd grade as well (at a school in Missouri next door to the University of Missouri.) I graduated from Flagler College in 1992. I am also certified to teach Art, English Language Learners, ESE, and am currently working on my gifted certification.
