Dear Community Members: Harborfields Alliance for Community Outreach (HACO) is a community 501(c)(3) tax - exempt organization committed to serving those families in need within our own community. Thanks to contributions from our supporters, we were able to care for more than 800 people this year. Here are just a few services we have provided this past year... food, clothing, housing, heating, appliances, pest control, transportation, pre - paid phones, holiday gifts and meals, prom and back to school suppli es. We work tirelessly to prevent families from going into homeless shelters. However, when it does occur, we are the frontline for keeping the kids in school, clothed and fed. In order to continue to do so, we need your help! The Outreach Club was a tre mendous success with high school students who participated in food shopping, stocking our food pantry and preparing food baskets that are delivered directly to our families’ front doors (all families addresses are kept strictly c onfidential). Our Kid’s Cl ub had many successful fundraisers. These many accomplishments are only possible through the dedicated efforts of numerous volunteers and through your generous donations. The Kids Club also participated in the Light Up the Night event, a community servic e and volunteerism experiential event. Return with the form on the back of this page. In addition to your financial donation, there are several other ways to contribute to HACO. Please consider donating your time and talents. We provide numerous people with community service opportunities. Through a cooperative c ommunity effort with the Centerport and Greenlawn Fire Departments, the United Teachers of Harborfields, we have helped thousands of people with food gift cards, transportation, furniture, prom tickets and scholarships. Every group plays an important role in helping our community, and has been doing so since 2001! Volunteer meeting dates will be announced monthly on our website and via Facebook. We encourage you to attend at least one of our meetings to see HACO in action and to possibly get involved your self. Your ideas, support and participation are always welcome.
