Theme of the Year
The 2015 Safety Day theme is related again to
“THE BASICS” that reflect the three PDO Golden Rules (Comply, Intervene & Respect). This year we will focus on Intervene “the second pillar of the Golden Rules which is fundamental to our lives and our business”. The PDO Managing Director’s Quote :
“This year we are going to put the emphasis on intervention..because we care, I intervene; you intervene because
we care ”Slide6
To understand what ‘Intervene’ means to individuals.
Awareness of the importance of intervention in saving lives and preventing injuries
Understand why some people hesitate to intervene and how to overcome this.
Debate how people can react when someone intervenes with them Facilitate and support implementation strategies to improve interventionOur objectives for our 2015 Safety Day 6Slide7
Does not matter who you are , you can all intervene
PDO MD
I know it’s not easy, it takes courage. Sometimes you receive push-back, and some colleagues may even say “Its none of your business” but it is, its your right, your responsibility to intervene because we should all care.
What matters is that you can save a life or prevent an injury by stepping-in But remember step-in politely because you care Listen and accept politely because you are important
