A potential solution to this problem is nanochannel mapping, where the DNA are extended in small channels. The configuration and dynamics of channel-confined polymers like DNA was considered a solved question for the past 30 years. However, recent theoretical work by the PI indicates that the existing models are not applicable to emerging technologies.
