Being fluent in a language helps prepare you to live and work in a diverse society. This is an introduction course to the Spanish language and culture. In this course our goal is to acquire language so that you become fluent. Fluency is something that happens to you (language acquisition) instead of something that you make happen (forced and temporary). We will focus class time on the acquisition of high frequency structures in addition to exploring the culture of the Spanish Speaking Countries. 1” bendable binder 1 compositon notebook Writing utensil 1 Bring your own device Supply list Cell phones or other electronic devices should not be used, seen, or heard in class unless used for class instruction. If you need to schedule a different time please let me know. Tutorials:Assignments will be due at the beginning of class period. You are expected to manage your time and extracurricular activities in such a way that you meet al due dates/deadlines.Do not spend class time explaining why you don’t have your homework. Get it done ASAP and turn it in to the homework tray. Assignments that are a day late receive a maximum of an 85% and partially completed assignments will receive half credit any other assignment that is more than 2 days late will receive a max. of 70%. Grading continued If a student fails any assignment they have two weeks to bring up their grade up to a 70 %. Parents please make sure to check home access regularly in order to keep up with your child’s academic status.
