A tooth from being covered by a hard shell known as enamel. This tough exterior has room for a soft tissue called dentin which is a major component of a tooth. Beneath the gingiva, there is the pulp, the part of the tooth where nerves, tissues, and cells are located. The pulp is what's severely inf ected during the formation of gum abscess. How bacteria infiltrate the pulp is basically a lot simpler than others think it is. Plaque, a substance acquired through the consumption of food, hardens after some time if not removed through brushing. This particular material produces acid which bores a hole deep enough to reach the pulp of a tooth, leaving it exposed to several kinds of bacteria. This incident is called tooth decay which is usually gained from inappropriate dental hygiene. Bacteria penetra te the dentin to the pulp where germ - fighting elements called white blood cells to gather.
