2 the Public Health Service. During its 50
the Public Health Service. During its 50+ year tenure, the organization has supported the Public Health Service; literally maintaining the Corps during times of great hardship. COA has advocated for the Corps to obtain parity with our sister services for educational and healthcare benefits and provided a voice for this proud, but often overlooked service on Capitol Hill. I strongly support the mission and proud legacy of the Public Health Service, and in turn, would like to continue to assist in transforming our service from “The Best Kept Secret” to a service in which the Nation r eadily recognizes and respects. Therefore, I passionately and proudly support the work of the Commissioned Officers Association in furthering public health initiatives and directly fostering the ability for Public Health Service officers to flourish when o ur Nation calls. During my time as the JOAG Liaison to the COA Board of Directors, COA Board of Directors and COA Executive Board, I have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the outstanding and altruistic efforts of COA at the individual staff and off icer level. This small cadre of COA/COF Directors and National COA staff members work diligently above and beyond the call to strengthen our service, promote visibility, create parity and take the time to address individual officer concerns. Please conside r my nomination as I am dedicated to providing continuity during this time of COA/COF leadership transition as an experienced board member. I would like to see this work through to completion and continue to promote the Commissioned Corps. My experience wo rking with the COA Board of Directors over a total of six years of service, has greatly enhanced my knowledge and operational base in regard to organizing, planning, communicating and furthering the initiatives noted within the strategic plan. I possess st rong leadership, organizational and communication skills. I will work tirelessly and continue to dedicate my efforts advocating for our Corps and its officers. Thank you for your time and I am eager to continue to serve the officers of the United States Public Health Service; a service I have dedicated my career to and a service I care so deeply for. I hereby acknowledge my understanding of the COA Board participation guidelines, and I am willing to abide by them.
