He marriedMary A. Hite (maiden name unknown) and was the father of thirteen children. Hite worked as a farmer and managedto acquire 270 acres of land. The first section of the book contains listsof debtors and creditors to Hite. Hite also indicates jobs he did for the people listed and vice versa. Some of theaccounts are for tanning, threshing, milling, and produce. The middle of the book contains some genealogicalinformation, including a birth date for Marquis D.
