Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of HeatersSlide2
Ecodesign and labelling regulations under Directives 2009/129/EC and 2010/30/EU are important instruments for achieving the objective of 20% energy savings by 2020.
Article 16 of Directive 2009/129/EC defines heating and water heating equipment as priority. In synergy with the national actions taken under the EPBD, the proposed regulations will lead to annual energy savings in the EU of about 56 Mtoe in 2020. This corresponds to an annual reduction of 135 million tons of CO2 emissions and savings for consumers of about € 30 billion in 2020.

Energy
labelling of heaters and water
heaters
Introduction of a new energy label for heaters and water heaters, based on a single energy efficiency scale for heaters using electricity, fossil fuels and renewable energy sources (a world "first"). This creates a level playing field between heater technologies and provides easily understandable information for consumers. Introduction of a new dealer label for packages of all types of heaters and water heaters combined with solar devices (a world "first") The new A ++ -G scale includes the best boilers and water heaters in class A. The classes A+-A++ can be reached by combining boilers and water heaters with cogeneration, heat pumps and solar devices
