The purpose of my investigation is to determine if a parent’s dominate hand will determine their child’s dominate hand. This is important to know because most companies make items for a righty. Should companies make items for a lefty? Or are there not enough left handed people to be worth it? My investigation will determine this.. Approximately 90% of the human population is right-handed [2]. Most of those individuals have left hemisphere dominance for handedness, as well as language [8]. This ‘typical’ pattern of asymmetrical lateralization is less pronounced and more often reversed in non-right-handers[3]. .
