GIMI was established in 1987
Since, it has developed management training and capacity building, short and long term seminars, workshops and courses to all levels of personnel and decision makers, from around the globe.

transitional and developing countries have received various training at the institute.
GIMI provides courses in a multiplicity of languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and Russian.

GIMI works with several agencies, such as: USAID, Austrian Development Agency, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, FAO, UNDP.
Participants are often sponsored by The World Bank, UNDP, FAO and UNESCO to name a few.

Study facilities and accommodations are provided by the Galilee International Management Institute Study Centre at Kibbutz Mizra, located seven kilometres outside the city of Nazareth in pastoral northern Israel.

The study centre includes modern classrooms equipped with the latest audio-visual aids and a computer laboratory with free Internet and e-mail access.

GIMI arranges an opening and closing ceremony and a farewell dinner for each group of participants.
In addition, staff members join participants for an International Evening in which individuals and groups share their national folklore through song, dance and display of cultural artifacts. During this particular evening, participants are encouraged to dress up in national attire.
