Significance of color in Ruby: Ruby’s value mainly depends on its color. The most elegant ruby comprises a pure vibrant red and sometimes slightly purplish red color. The color of it should be neither to o dark nor too light if you are considering the finest quality. It is said that dark ruby has a negative effect on the stone’s brightness. On the other hand, if the color is too light, the stone may be considered a pink sapphire. Rubies actually originated from aluminum oxide. They are available in different shades of color which are determined by a range of elements like chromic oxide offers the red color to ruby and a pink - colored ruby develops due to the availability of chromium and iron.
